Turkey Operators
How to acquire and connect phone numbers from Turkish mobile and fixed-line operators for Fonify AI calls.
Turkey Operators
Turkey has three major telecommunications operators. This guide covers how to get phone numbers from each one and connect them to Fonify for AI-powered calling.
Supported Operators
Turkcell
Turkey's largest mobile operator. Offers SIP-enabled business lines and DID numbers.
Vodafone TR
Provides corporate SIP trunk solutions and virtual numbers for businesses.
Turk Telekom
The primary fixed-line provider. Offers DID numbers and SIP trunk services via TT Business.
Number Types Available
| Type | Description | Operators | Use Case |
|---|---|---|---|
| GSM (Mobile) | Standard +90 5XX numbers | Turkcell, Vodafone | Outbound campaigns with high caller ID trust |
| DID (Direct Inward Dial) | Virtual numbers routed via SIP | All three | Inbound call centers, IVR flows |
| SIP Trunk | Bulk voice channels over IP | Turk Telekom, Turkcell Business | High-volume concurrent calls |
| Fixed-Line | Geographic +90 2XX numbers | Turk Telekom | Local presence for regional offices |
DID numbers are the most common choice for AI call campaigns in Turkey. They allow concurrent calls on a single number and integrate directly via SIP.
Business Requirements
To acquire numbers from Turkish operators, you need:
- A registered Turkish business entity (limited company or sole proprietorship)
- Tax registration number (Vergi Kimlik Numarasi)
- An authorized signatory for the telecom contract
- Business address verification document
Individual (personal) accounts cannot be used for automated or bulk calling under Turkish ICTA regulations. You must have a corporate account.
Setup by Operator
Turkcell Business
Visit a Turkcell Business center or apply online at business.turkcell.com.tr. Request a SIP-enabled line or DID number allocation.
Once your corporate line is active, request SIP connection details from your Turkcell account manager. You need: SIP server address, authentication username, and password.
Share the SIP details provided by Turkcell with the support team. The Fonify-side connection is completed for you.
Vodafone TR Business
Contact Vodafone Business sales or visit a Vodafone Business store. Request a virtual number or SIP trunk package.
Vodafone provides SIP credentials after contract activation. Ensure your package includes external SIP registration permissions.
Share the Vodafone SIP details with support so the Fonify-side connection can be completed for you.
Turk Telekom (TT Business)
Contact TT Business or apply through ttbusiness.com.tr. Fixed-line DID numbers are available for most area codes.
Turk Telekom provisions SIP trunk access, typically within 3-5 business days. You receive a SIP proxy address and credentials.
Share the SIP proxy address and credentials with support so the Fonify-side connection can be completed for you.
Testing Your Connection
After a Turkish operator number is connected for you:
- Ask support to run a verification call with you.
- Confirm audio quality, latency, and caller ID display.
- Verify the number is linked to the correct employee before going live.
Tip
If you experience one-way audio or registration failures, check that your operator has whitelisted external SIP registrations. This is the most common issue with Turkish operator connections.
Regulatory Notes
- ICTA Compliance: Automated calling in Turkey is regulated by the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK/ICTA). Ensure your campaigns comply with opt-in requirements.
- Number Portability: Turkish numbers can be ported between operators. If you port a number, update your SIP credentials in Fonify.
- Caller ID Rules: Turkish regulations require accurate caller ID display. Do not spoof or mask your number.
